Truth of Life
From Universal Consciousness, energy, matter, and life emerge under various circumstances.
Universal Consciousness is eternal; energy, matter, and life are merely ripples upon it.
Once humans on planet Earth began walking upright on two legs, their hands were liberated. With these free hands, they were able to handle fire effectively; the utilization of fire subsequently accelerated the development of their intellect at an immense pace. Consequently, it is the human species alone that has achieved such a profound level of evolution.
The habit of sitting and standing with an erect posture has fostered a harmonious coordination between the human brain and the nervous system. Through physical exertion and diligent effort—which facilitate a proper alignment between the Universal Consciousness (Shiva) and the consciousness residing within the body (Shakti)—an individual becomes capable of attaining deeper wisdom, while simultaneously diminishing their sense of self-interest and attachment.
The consciousness residing within the body is an integral part of Universal Consciousness; however, due to attachment to the physical form and self-centeredness, it often loses sight of this fundamental truth.
Those who succeed in transcending self-interest and attachment while still inhabiting the physical body are able to attain an awareness of Universal Consciousness during their lifetime. Excessive attachments to relationships, the accumulation of excessive wealth, and the misuse of power are the channels through which sorrow enters one's life.
The body and mind—being themselves constituents of Universal Consciousness—receive sustenance and support for their essential needs directly from that very Universal Consciousness. Yet, due to the ignorance of the individual consciousness, it often fails to rein in misplaced attachments and self-interest; as a result, such souls are compelled to lead lives filled with suffering.
