What is Self and How to realise it's true nature?

For time being forget all your past religious and spiritual knowledge, just empty yourself of everything you have read or learnt. If Self means our I or our Me then It's very essential to know the real nature of our I. Unless we know about our I we can not understand the true meaning of our life.  Almost all religions and spiritual schools has termed our I as Atma, spirit, soul, self etc. We understand our life through a series of experiences. So to realise self we must understand each and every stage of our experience. When we experience anything, first our sense organs capture images of experience, they forward those images to the brain, and the brain stores images into the memory. Then the memory reacts about the experience and makes an announcement about the experience. The response of the memory is the series of thoughts. Viyoddha

Viyoddha (विशेष योध्दा) means special warrior. Other warriors fought with their external enemies but Viyoddha fights with his own internal enemies created by the mind. These internal enemies are called as षड्रिपु, the six enemies within.  The internal six enemies are as follows: 1. Lust or Desire (Sanskrit: काम्) 2. Anger (Sanskrit: क्रोध्) 3.
